Heat...
QME uses a unique cal-rod resistance type
heat coil which does not glow "red-hot" as do other types
of common heat resistance coils. Danger from overheating
or fires is virtually non-existent and the coil is safe to use in
wet or humid conditions. Unlike reverse cycle
heat systems, heat does not depend upon water circulation.
Thus, the life of the compressor, coil, and pump are prolonged.
Boats can be winterized and still obtain 100% efficiency
even when the water temperature falls below 45 F.
Rotary Compressors...
A/C units under 17,000 BTU utilize the
quieter, more efficient, and lighter rotary compressors.
These compressors have proved to be more durable with
less moving parts than the piston type compressors. At
the customer's request, however,
QME also manufactures units using piston compressors with
reverse cycle heat in the smaller units. |

QME unique
ducting system...
QME has developed a unique ducting system
which makes installation faster, easier and more
economical by using one plenum to supply up to four different
ducts to be located in various places throughout the boat.
Standard installation kits include 2 supply ducts for
systems up to 9,000 BTU's, 3 supply ducts for systems
between 12,000 and 17,000 BTU's and 4-5 supply ducts for
units 20,000 to 36,000 BTU's.
Other Standard QME Features...
Electrical boxes are
easily serviced by a unique no-screw slide up cover plate.
Other standard features include a hard-start kit which
minimizes the amount of wattage needed to start the system.
A mini-circuit breaker located in the control panel itself
will shut off the unit in high or low voltage situations
(in case of pump failure, or if the compressor should
overheat). |
